Blog ArchivesSummer’s Coming?
Even though it’s still pretty cold in the UK its sunny, which means it’s summer (hence everyone suddenly wandering about in shorts and a t-shirt even though it’s about 10 degrees!).
Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens Review
I have very recently taken receipt of a Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens from OneStop Digital. After looking through a number of different reviews for different lenses of various shapes, makes and sizes, I decided on a true Marco lens to widen my options regarding my photography kit.
I See You
I took a series of macro photos trying to capture the detail within an eye, during the process I got a bit frustrated with out of focus shots or ones where I was not in the right position. This one is when I accidentally pressed the remote while losing the plot a bit heheh…..
An Unlikely Subject
On days where it is difficult to get out an about on a photography shoot (like today!) I often look about the house for interesting articles to capture (mostly thinking about macro photos). One thing which I have never thought to capture in a photo was the very equipment that I use in photography and always have with me, my collection of lenses. Perfect for macro photography as they are precisely and perfectly manufactured so that they are pretty much free form blemishes.
Massively Random Photos And A Bit Of Product Placement
Thought I would take some photos of some random stuff about the house, along the way there is a blatent bit of product placement for any companies looking for some product photography!???? ;)
Inside An HDR Christmas Tree
Just a bit of photography experimentation on a weekday evening, did a couple of test shots to see how our Christmas tree and decorations would come out in HDR……..more to follow
Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 Review
My Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 is another lens that I have owned for some time, in fact, I purchased this at the same time as I got my current Canon 50D. I opted to go for the camera body and this lens over the normal camera/stock lens’ package as I had read many great reviews of the lens online.
Christmas Photography Ideas
Christmas is the time of year when garnishing your home, both inside and out, with garish decorations is not only acceptable but expected and fun, it is also the time of year when colours and textures are abundant and there is a great opportunity for many great portrait and candid photographs.
Autumn Dew And A Bit Of Colour
Great thing about this time of year is the golden sunsets and autumn colours combining to offer great photographs. Rather than the usual landscape shots, why not get out for a bit of macro photography using something that you see (and probably walk on) every day. Look closely at dew covered grass (which lasts most of the day this time of year) and it seems like a different world!
