Blog ArchivesImage Of The Moment – Bournemouth
I purchased a new 50mm camera lens and to Christen it I drove 100 miles to Bournemouth on the South coast of England to take some photos. I used to visit Bournemouth a lot when my grand parents lived there and it brought back great memories (as well as providing ample opps for photos (although very busy with sun worshippers))!
LenShare HDR Article Featuring ‘Me’!
I was lucky enough recently to be asked to provide a photo and a few words on the much discussed subject of HDR for LenShare.Com. My thanks to Jeff who runs LenShare for including my work and I strongly recommend a visit as it is a great site and resource of all things photography!
What To Photograph When It’s Raining
I had ones of those evenings today where I drove around for ages in the rain without coming accross anything or going anywhere that took my fancy for a photo. Hellingly Asylum – Chillingly Great Photography
Hellingly Asylum opened in 1903 on the South West coast of Britain. Designed by G.T Hine. An onsite railway station and tramway provided Hellingly supplies. Hellingly was closed down in 1994.
Although these photos are obviously not to everyone’s taste, they do capture the imagination and go some way to show the rooms and corridors once home to many mentally ill and insane people. The shadows and light also captured in the images is also very atmospheric!
Great Coastal Photography Gallery
The coastline has to be one of the most photographed subjects there is. There is a reason for this, the sheer beauty, natural power of the ocean, man made structures and the wildlife found on any coastline allows a photographer to take as many photos as they wish without ever getting the same shot twice!
A Guide To Nightclub Photography
I recently joined my friend (who is a DJ), at one of his gigs at a well known British Bar. He asked if I could take some photos of him, his DJ partner and the venue. He also asked if I could not use a flash as this may put them off of their mixing etc.
Guide To Taking Photos For Others
Taking photos as a hobby is one thing, but what about when someone asks you to take photos for them to display. I was recently asked to take some photos of a friends car. Here is the process I used to make sure that not only I was happy with the outcome, but more importantly, they were!
Cityscape, Urban and Architecture Photography Showcase
I am a huge fan of urban photography and cityscapes. Unfortunately I don’t live very near any ‘proper’ cities. Fortunately these photographer do and can create art like the examples in this round up…..
