Outdoor portrait photography offers a whole new array of challenges for you to overcome. The changing light, the elements and general conditions all play a part in how your photos will come out after the session. Taking a photo of a car is easy, point and shoot, the problem is that this will result in just a photo of a car. If you want to create some atmosphere which really creates a ‘mood’ and add that bit more to the photo then there are some things to consider and a few tricks you can use….

One of the great things about heathland is the array of colours on the ground….mix this with great colours in the sky and some water/ice to reflect them and you have a great scene for a photo shoot…

There are loads of images all over FLickr and alike featuring coloured drops of water close up. The random nature of water makes for a different photo each time and it is not as hard to set up a small ’set’ to capture ‘the Chaos Theory’ in action!

I had some free time today and so I decided to go for a few urban shots. I was going to take photos of some interesting buildings in a nearby town, however, on the way I noticed this building which has been abandoned.
