I keep going back to this spot for the great colours that form at sunrise, sunset and the reflections that are created on the water. Coupled with the backdrop of Marlow and it’s church spire and bridge and it’s too much of a photo opportunity to only take a couple!……………….
High-key lighting is a technique in photography that aims to reduce the lighting ratio present in the scene. Often associated with an upbeat mood the photograph typically has very little to no shadow and the overall effect is one which looks very ‘clean’…..
Following my recent call to photographers to get in touch to allow me to showcase their work and delve into their thought processes and inspiration, I received a number of links to outstanding portfolio’s. Kevin Thornhill was one photographer that stood out to me due to his fresh approach to his photography and varied subject matter.
After visiting the weir a couple of weeks ago and only having a limited window before the sun went down, I thought I would return with more time to prepare and get a good position. Although the sun was setting and the light was golden, the capture looked more ‘pleasing’ in black and white….
