Sunny Morning At A Stream

Took a quick drive to a local park that has a picturesque stream running through it. It was a lovely sunny morning which only enhanced the summer feel to the day.The woodland surrounding the park seems to have been taken over by moss, must be all the rain recently :)
Waterfall Photography Explained

Waterfall Photography Explained

There are 3 waterfalls near where I live (that I know of anyway). Waterfalls offer a variety of different opportunities for photographers when it comes to technique and genres of photography. Below are the tips that I have learned and picked up from the web while taking images of these great locations.

1 Bridge 5 Photographs

This bridge has always caught my eye whenever I drive over the bridge in Maidenhead, a local town. The white steel work against the dark river really makes the bridge stand out and makes for a lovely image (I think) :)
Snail Safari – After The Rain

Snail Safari – After The Rain

Another testament to my theory that there's ALWAYS something of interest to take a photo of. After our pretty epic storms yesterday and the accompanying rain, there were quite a few snails sliming about in the garden. This offers a great opportunity to practice focus and aperture, while capturing a unique portrait of an often overlooked model :)
Quick Trick To Achieve Great Depth Of Field and Focus

Quick Trick To Achieve Great Depth Of Field and Focus

I've been taking quite a few shots recently where I've included strong focus on a very small part of the frame, usually a plant shoot or moss etc. This type of shot would normally mean an awkward angle to shoot from, therefore causing problems for you as the photographer. IT would also require a tripod as the focus would need to be manual, meaning tricky set up to the the extremely low angle. Luckily, there's an easier way.
A Farmers Sunset

A Farmers Sunset

It's been a little while since I took an HDR sunset shot, tonight I decided that would be my goal. Luckily there's a farm nearby that provides a very nice vista as well as facing west for a sunset opportunity. I took 3 bracketed shots, all RAW, processed in Photoshop CC and Pixlr. 10426

Retro Summer Photos

Great weather at the weekend meant a few summer countryside photos. Shooting in extremely bright light can be difficult and wash out colour so I applied a few post processing techniques to work with the washed out look, rather than trying to fight it.
