The Windy Pixel is one of only a few photography sites I visit religiously EVERY day. Every time this site opens I am presented with another stunning, original HDR image and a great article about the photograph. This is more often than not the work of Justin Kern, one of the most impressive and consistently brilliant HDR photographers you will find on the Web. I ‘speak’ to Justin on a regular basis via Twitter, through comments on tWp and on Facebook, but wanted to delve a bit further into what makes him tick and inspires his relentless creativity and photographic vision…….

It’s not often you come across a site that sets itself apart form the rest through consistently stunning photography and variety of subject matter. TheWindyPixel is a site run by 3 fantastic photographers who between them have taken some of the best examples of original HDR imagery that I have seen in years.

From NationalGeographic.com – Since 1995, Nicklen has specialized in photographing the Arctic and its inhabitants. With an emphasis on underwater photography, Nicklen excels in working in harsh environments and cross-cultural situations. His photographic style reflects a reverence for the creatures that inhabit the isolated Arctic.

As well as being a good friend of mine and of FPR’s, Ron Dubin is an exceptional photographer and has inspired many of my own photo’s and I am sure, countless others. His first book, Bolivia – A Journey includes a fantastic collection of photographs and I have previously interviewed Ron about his experiences, for which the link can be found at the bottom of this article.
